10 Maoists Died In Recent Clashes
- Maoist socket bomb assailants (improvised hand grenades) from Eastern Command Special Area "B" Company, known as "Shishir", "Ashok", and "Raktim were killed in an counter offensive launched by security forces in the vicinity of Goli, Solukhumbu District, on 23 November 2004. Similarly, Taplejung District, Lintep No.2 Area Committee member Santosh "Birahi" and Rautahat District, Bhasedwa No. 3 Area Committee Secretary Lal Babu Das were also killed in the same day. Security forces recovered a 3.15 caliber pistol, several rounds for the pistol, 10 socket bombs, and Maoists documents and pamphlets.
- In an armed clash between security forces and Maoist terrorists on 22 November 2004, "Asmita" and two other Maoists who have not been identified have been killed in the vicinity of Lakhanpur, Ramechhap District. Security Forces have recovered 30 AK 47 Rifle rounds, 7 shot gun rounds, a binocular, 23 electric detonators, a TNT explosive, 20 socket bombs, a pipe bomb, combat dresses, and other logistics equipment.
- On 23 November 2004, security forces also recovered two Maoists dead bodies that were buried in the vicinity Sigukhola, Solukhumbu District. They are believed to have died in the clash that occurred between Maoists and security forces on 20 November 2004, in the vicinity of Kinja, Solukhumbu District.
