Disapperance
The National Human Rights Commission today has sent a recommendation letter to the Office of the Prime Minister and the Councils of Ministers regarding the arrest of former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba last Wednesday.

The letter states that the arrest of former Prime Minister Deubwa at midnight was in contravention to the prevailing laws as well as the His Majesty’s Government’s Commitment of April 2004 on human rights and international humanitarian law. In the letter, the Commission has referred to section 4 of the Commitment, which states that no one shall be arrested at night.

The Commission has suggested in the same letter for proper action against the persons who were involved in the midnight arrest of former Prime minister Deuba and arrangements to avoid such kind of incidents in the future.
