Press-Statement

The ceasefire and dialogue have been taken very seriously by our Party, and it is a well known fact we also expect the same kind of seriousness from the government. To build a favourable and credible atmosphere for the dialogue, our Party has been exerting all possible efforts, which is no more a hidden fact from anyone. But, even the period of the ceasefire is going to finish a month, the government has not taken any positive and concrete step towards dialogue, and it is creating unfavourable and doubtful atmosphere. Against the general definition of ceasefire as "STAY WHEREVER YOU ARE" , the government has been escalating checking, arresting and spying by use of civil-dressed secret agents, instead of disclosing the figures and state of the political prisoners to begin process of their releasing, re-arresting and putting them in prisons those who had been released by the court etc, only hint at huge repercussion . In different districts of the country during the period of the ceasefire, to arrest dozens of political activists, in Kanchanpur, arresting a small platoon of the People's Liberation Army with their arms encircling them while they were resting peacefully respecting the general definition of ceasefire, such events justify that the government has seriously violated the rules of the ceasefire. We request the government to stop violating the rules of the ceasefire and not to commit any irresponsible activities which will hinder the process of dialogue, and to release them with their arms who were arrested during the period of ceasefire with their arms, to disclose the condition of the political prisoners and to take step for their release, and take up the process of dialogue seriously. We cordially request all those political powers, intellectual communities, human right organizations, journalists and the general mass who are worried about the future of the nation and its people and hope to have solution through dialogue to cautiously raise voice with all patience and responsibility against all those elements tendency and movements from within and outside the country trying to destabilise ceasefire and disturb the dialogue. Through the ceasefire and dialogue we have been striving to seek way out as will of the people for peace, freedom and progress including economic, political and cultural change. It is obvious from the fact that our strong political determination has not decreased in the least to fight for the cause of the nation and People till the end if our dedicated realization of responsibility towards the nation and People is supposed to be fragile and baselessly commented and rumour and suspicion misinformed. We are not saying this for political publicity, but just expressing the reality. It wouldn't be favourable for anyone to test the patience of our Party and the general mass. The forward-going way out of peace, freedom and progress are the necessity and expectation of nation and its People. Therefore, once again we request all the people's political powers, intellectual communities and general mass to be united to make ceasefire and the process of dialogue a success according to the necessity and expectation.
