RNA chief meets with Chinese officials
Chief of the Army Staff General Pyar Jung Thapa met with chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Jia Quinglin in Beijing on October 21, 2005 morning. During the meeting, discussions were held on issues of mutual interest and cooperation and understanding.
General Thapa is currently in China for an official visit at the invitation of the People’s Liberation Army of China.
Also today, General Thapa met with vice chairman of the Central Military Council and State Council and Chinese Defence Minister.
General Thapa also made a courtesy call to Chief of General Staff of the People’s Liberation Army. During the meetings, discussions were held to expand cooperation between the Royal Nepalese Army and the People’s Liberation Army, the RNA statement said.
