NHRC begun investigation of RNA
The National Human Rights Commission has begun preliminary investigation from today into the incident of the attack by CPN (Maoist) on the base camp of Royal Nepal Army at Pili of Kalikot District on 7 August.
In this connection, a team of officers of the Commission went to the Army Hospital at Chhauni today and gathered information after observing the nature of the dead bodies of armymen killed in the incident. The Commission has begun the probe based on the information obtained from human rights cell of the RNA.
The Commission appeals to the CPN (M) to treat the captured armymen as per Common Article 3 of the Geneva Conventions and release them unconditionally and safely as the captured armymen are still captives of the Maoists.
