Maoist Atrocities

The terrorists obstructed transportation services by placing roadblocks on the Chachare section of the Siddhartha Highway in Palpa district on August 2, 2005. Similarly, two civilians and a terrorist, who sustained injuries when a socket bomb which the terrorist was carrying went off at a teashop in Banepa, Kavrepalanchok district on August 1, 2005. They have been brought to Kathmandu for treatment.

The terrorists, who have been showing their cowardice by perpetrating various excesses on the civilians, forcibly entered into the house of Narayan Lamsal, who owns a shop at Manehara Ilaka in Dhangadhi Municipality and severely beat him up on July 31, 2005. The terrorists are also learnt to have looted the jewelry worn by Lamsal’s wife, cash and goods in the shop. The woman, who sustained injuries in the scuffle, is receiving treatment at the Seti Zonal Hospital.

Similarly, in course of carrying out various atrocities against the civilians, a band of terrorists on July 31 beat up Bhim, Bhadur Gole of Agra area and Kali Dhakal of Gogane area, Makwanpur district, severely injuring them in the process. The same day, terrorists are learnt to have abducted more than 100 local youths of Darling and Rajkut areas in Baglung district and taken them to unspecified place.
