Press Statement

Having taken the recent appeal of Kofi Annan, the General Secretary of the United Nation, for the peaceful solution of the existing crisis of the civil war in Nepal and the inherent conception as a responsible initiative of the international community, our Party has humbly welcomed it. We have been making public our proposal for the need of mediation of the United Nations on the background of the deception and conspiracy demonstrated by the feudal autocratic old state in the period of past negotiation. The main issue of the ongoing civil war has remained on whether or not the right to determine their own fate and future should be given in the hands of Nepalese people. The old state wants to confine the sovereign right of the people in the hands of the feudal king and emperors, just as in the medieval age, whereas our Party wants to establish the fundamental right of the people practically. Our stand and commitment on Multilateral Political Conference, Interim Government and Election of the Constituent Assembly clarifies that fact. The People’s war has been developing as a rebellion against the killing, terror and atrocity of the “Royal army” traditionally obedient to the autocracy of the feudal Palace. The key of the peaceful solution of the ongoing Nepalese civil war is to make an atmosphere on which the Nepalese people of the 21st century determine themselves independently what kind of political system they want for them. The feudal military autocracy of the old state has been being manifested in the protest of this universal democratic method. Having realised the gravity of the situation, our Party has realised the need of the mediation of the United Nation in order to establish the sovereign right of the masses of the people. It is sure that the bloodshed and the rebelling will get a peaceful solution with the creation of an atmosphere where public opinion could be put independently. Our Party again appeals to all the pro-people, democratic forces in and out side of the country to enhance initiative and struggle for this propose. If the old state continue its adventure of suppressing the people on the back of the military force, the people’s war will continue until the old state is completely destroyed.
